HUMAN RESOURCES SUPERVISOR 3RD SHIFT
Description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day to day administration of personnel policies and practices at assigned location.
- Recommends program changes or enhancements to meet human resource requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of separation notices for employees separating with cause and may conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Partner with management to advice and counsel on employee issues.
- Spend time on production floor to determine production needs.
- Provide facility supervision on employee relations matters including: investigation, resolving conflict, and communications in regards to employee questions, issues, or concerns.
- Oversee training throughout the plant including New Hire orientation through qualification phase and annual training. Ensure alchemy training is at 100% annually
- Evaluate work performance of trainers, classroom instructors, and clerk
- Oversee Production trainers to insure they are successful in new hire training.
- Be a mentor to our trainers to ensure that all new hires are assigned a trainer when they get placed on the production floor.
- Initiate and implement ideas for improving training
- May represent company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Perform disciplinary procedures ranging from verbal warnings to terminations.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.
- Stays current on recent federal, state and case law changes and monitors labor law updates for changes that affect HR.
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Previous experience in a meat processing plant or similar manufacturing setting preferred.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend and/ or crawl for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures with frequent exposure to moving machinery, hot water and slippery floors.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive motion work in hand scrubbing and running a hose.
- Must be able to work with multiple chemicals with proper training and personal protective equipment.
- Be able to communicate written and verbally in English

Education Requirements (if applicable):
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; however, additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
- 1-2 years of experience in HR.
