JOB SUMMARY

 

Principe Italia, a division of JBS Prepared Foods, is in search of an experienced Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for a wide range of payroll & attendance related activities, and acting as a back-up to the HR Generalist when needed. This individual will play a key role in the success of the plant by maintaining the payroll function and supporting leadership and hourly employees on payroll & HR related matters. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly pay cycles for employees
  • Work with all aspects of Payroll, including verifying employee time, payroll deductions, vacation, etc.
  • Review and validate timesheets and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Provide information to managers on payroll and attendance matters
  • Administration and tracking of employee attendance, including disciplinary action, vacations, and leave of absence
  • Manage the Leave of Absence and FMLA processes, including tracking days/hours used and ensuring we are in adherence to both internal policies and governmental regulations.
  • Establish, evaluate, and maintain departmental reports and key indicators
  • Recommend new processes, policies, and procedures to influence continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Service employees on payroll questions; support the HR Generalist when needed
  • Responsible for internal company communication, including bulletin boards, company newsletter, etc.

  • SAP and Kronos software knowledge preferred
  • 2 years of payroll experience preferred
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Customer-focused attitude and excellent communication skills with a high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and dynamic deadlines
  • Flexible and positive
  • Efficient time management skills in a fast-paced business environment
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to be agile,
  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing and able to visit the production floor while adhering to all required safety and GMP practices
