The Memphis Case Ready Facility Manager directs, leads, and coaches the operational personnel in, planning, organizing and running optimum day-to-day operations of facility to exceed our customers’ expectations. Responsible for increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing, to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and followed. Develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.   
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
 
  1. Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations. 
    1. Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure plant objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
    2. Coordinates with Senior Management to develop goals and objectives.
    3. Provides leadership through effective goal setting, communication, and coaching.
    4. Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
    5. Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
    6. Leads personnel to improve performance and productivity.
    7. Ensures that policies are followed and updated with evolving production and quality standards.
    8. Motivates, coaches, and challenges personnel with a positive approach.
    9. Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards. 
    10. Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.
    11. Develop processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
  2. Assumes responsibility for setting and controlling budgets, targets, and objectives (KPI’s).
    1. Develop and implement budget plan and production plans.
    2. Provide progress reports to Senior Management highlighting any variances.
    3. Ensure that key roles are staffed with personnel who can effectively undertake the roles and responsibilities of the position as it relates to the business.
    4. Conducts performance appraisals and implements employee’s corrective actions.
    5. Reviews costs, production, and forecast data to determine plant progress toward meeting stated goals and objectives.
    6. Oversees purchasing and product development functions.
    7. Managing overall operating expenses, capital projects and expenditures, and budgets (Annual and Quarterly).
  3. Ensures that production functions are completed in accordance with company’s established quality, production, and safety standards.
    1. Responsible for Safety, Security, Health and regulatory programs on site.
    2. Ensures production quality performance metrics (0 defects) are achieved.
    3. Ensures production efficiency performance metrics (throughput and cost) are achieved.
    4. Ensures production safety performance metrics are achieved keeping TIR within desired constraints.
    5. Coordinates activities with site Quality Manager, ensures that all food products are manufactured within the guidelines of industry and regulatory standards for quality and food safety.
  4. Provides a customer centric approach throughout the Company.
    1. Ensures a singular focus in meeting the needs of customers.
    2. Builds and maintains work teams to achieve customer’s objectives.
    3. Builds and maintains contacts necessary for future business development.
    4. Proactively promotes the company.
  5. Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.
    1. Provides assistance and support to all departments as requires.
    2. Keeps senior management informed of any significant problems.
    3. Ensures effective relationships both internally and externally are built and maintained to meet company objectives.
  6. Ensures that manufacturing equipment is maintained, supported and available.
    1. Ensures company’s assets are maintained to maximize equipment useful life and efficiency.
    2. Engages with equipment suppliers to ensure expertise contributes to the effective operation of production equipment and resolution of problems.
  7. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
    1. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
    2. Stays informed of developments and changes in production techniques and methods.
    3. Completes special projects as assigned. 
  8. May assume other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or 8 years of operational management experience in a plant environment.
· Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
· Training in Safety, SQF, GMP, and HACCP
· Previous experience and strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices
· Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office products to analyze data and trends
· Previous experience in best practice implementing and using continuous improvement and lean tools to drive improvement
· Previous experience and broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
· Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills.
· Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering
· Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
· A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
· Strong analytical and decision-making skills
· Ability to lead decision-making processes in a team environment
· Ability to speak, read, and write English
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently.
  • Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
  • Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.  Temperatures are frequently around 34 degrees, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays. As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, as a representative of the Company in other situations.  Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary, and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

Base salary range of ($150k - $175K)
