Production Team Member

Responsibilities & Requirements

Join the JBS Plainwell team and play a key role in producing high-quality beef products that feed families across the country. Team members work in a fast-paced production environment and may be assigned to a variety of operational areas throughout the facility.

Responsibilities may include:

• Processing beef products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Preparing products for packaging, storage, and shipment.
• Operating hand tools such as knives and hooks.
• Operating powered equipment including saws, skinners, and other processing tools.
• Following all food safety, quality, animal welfare, and workplace safety procedures.
• Performing repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and handling of products.
• Working in hot, cold, wet, or refrigerated production environments.
• Standing, walking, bending, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Job Duties

Depending on department assignment, duties may include:

• Unloading and handling livestock in accordance with humane animal welfare standards.
• Preparing livestock for harvest operations.
• Hide removal using knives and specialized equipment.
• Trimming carcasses and products to meet food safety and quality standards.
• Harvesting and processing by-products and offal.
• Breaking down carcasses into primal and sub-primal cuts.
• Trimming, packaging, bagging, and boxing products to customer specifications.
• Inspecting products for quality and compliance standards.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; training provided.
• Ability to work safely in a production environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion tasks.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
