Job Title: Service Person/Field Manager

Summary of Position: JBS Live Pork, LLC has an opportunity available for a Service Person/Field Manager in the Russellville, AR, area Positions may be available in other geographical locations in Arkansas, Missouri, and Iowa.  This Multiplier gilt finishing and sow production Service Person/Field Manager Position will work directly with a designated group of contract pork producers to assist them in trouble shooting problem areas and provide solutions for improving production. You will also help manage customer relationships as well as provide documentation of on farm reports. You will work with your Production Manager and veterinarian to arrive at solutions and make decisions that will impact your area and your business unit profitability. 

Through farm visits, producer meetings and information sharing, you will aid the producers in finding the most successful ways of maximizing production on their farm.  This field manager will be responsible for productivity and cost of production for approximately 24,000 spaces of gilt multiplication finishing and 5,000 – 6,000 sows.  In addition, the service person/field manager helps manage the producer relationship and assist in contract renewals. This position also includes the scheduling and placements of the multiplier grow/finish sites and gilts into sow farms.

Principle Accountabilities:

 70% - Producer training, troubleshooting, health management and cost management on farms. Auditing facility, Animal Welfare and environmental compliance and work to help producer meet compliance by offering solutions

30% - Gilt scheduling and placements schedule, contract administration duties, pay requests, med/vet ordering, and production meetings

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Multiplier grow/finish and sow herd health management
  • Coaching, training, and developing new farm managers
  • Animal Welfare and environmental compliance by offering solutions
  • Medication/vet ordering
  • Bio-Security compliance and action planning
  • Assists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and labor
  • Sets long and short term targets and goals for breeding and farrowing success
  • Maintains accurate number integrity for record keeping
  • Coordinates and oversees completion of special projects
  • Makes recommendations for operational improvements 
  • Scheduling gilts out of finishers into sow farms and placements of wean gilts into nurseries and finishers for grow out 
  • Any other duties assigned by the Production Manager

Required: 

  • BS/BA degree in related field or 5 years’ equivalent experience in pork production
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Occasional overnight travel - 15%
  • Dual Experience in grow/finish and Sow Production
  • Ability to motivate and inspire people to achieve high goals
  • Possess Problem Solving Techniques
  • Demonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operations
  • Possesses proficiency in spreadsheet, database, word processing software
  • Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs  

Travel: Heavy weekly travel to farms in Arkansas and occasionally in Missouri.
