Assistant Procurement Manager – Live Pork

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for an Assistant Procurement Manager for JBS Live Pork that reports onsite to the corporate office in Greeley, Colorado.

 

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Assistant Procurement Manager is responsible for assisting in establishing feed ingredient sourcing strategies, overseeing supply chain of feed ingredients, and managing day-to-day activities that keep feed mills producing swine feed.  This position plays a crucial role in the execution of contracts, supply chain management, and supporting of feed mill operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate bulk ingredient logistics for feed mills
  • Forecast ingredient demand and develop inventory plans to maintain stock availability
  • Support inventory management for feed mill ingredients with seasonal demand and shelf-life considerations
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in maintaining a centralized distribution center for micro ingredients
  • Support weekly route truck planning and coordination from the distribution center
  • Manage contracted hauler freight rates and fuel surcharges across designated lanes
  • Submit and track freight payments and demurrage charges for accounting review
  • Prepare and maintain cloud-based ingredient manuals to support FDA compliance and internal operating procedures
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, streamline operations, and improve inventory turns
  • Support supplier transitions following bid completion
  • Partner with suppliers to ensure inventories are transported in a bio secure manner
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in providing updated pricing to JBS Nutritionists for accurate diet formulation and decision-making
  • Analyze bid results, support supplier award recommendations, and assist with contract management and compliance
  • Maintain supplier relationships, support strategic partnerships, and evaluate supplier performance against expectations
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • 2+ years of procurement or purchasing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability
  • Comfortable negotiating with internal and external partners
  • Strong situational awareness and emotional intelligence, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally by phone and in group settings
  • Advanced Excel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of M-Tech Amino beneficial but not required
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $58,000-$70,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
