TANNERY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR B-SHIFT

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor for the JBS Tannery a ROLE that will assist in the day to day mechanical operations of the Tannery Maintenance Department in Cactus, Texas. This role includes but is not limited to the assistance of all areas of the Tannery plant, insuring all aspects of the operation are being adhered to as required by safety and company policies. Candidate must have a working knowledge of the Mechanical field with emphasis on troubleshooting, installation of new equipment, repairs, and upkeep of existing equipment as well as leadership skills.
The JBS Tannery team is seeking a Tannery Maintenance Supervisor to offer general mechanical support to all the Tannery Plant. This role is based at our Tannery facility in Cactus, TX. The Supervisor will be part of a team of about 18 mechanics and directly supervising 4 mechanics per shift located in Cactus. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented and thrive on supporting a busy, fast-paced team. This role offers excellent growth potential!
Responsibilities:
- Must have the ability to apply emphasis to major functions of equipment in area of responsibility this includes but is not limited to:
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of various mechanical tasks
- Must understand the process flow of mechanical functions. This includes but is not limited to the equipment on the Tannery floor.
- Understands the workings of diagnostic equipment (oscilloscope, megger, voltmeter and Amp probes).
- All functions of primary and secondary product equipment.
- Product testing equipment
- All plant Program Logic Controllers
- All primary and Secondary functions of the mechanical power in the facility
- All equipment associated to mechanical areas that are assigned by peers
- Must be able to understand and draw mechanical schematics and use these schematics and plant schematics as troubleshooting guides.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbal & written.
Qualifications:
- Finalized BS/Certification or in progress (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
- Experience: Certification may be substituted for 3+ years’ experience in the same field.
- Computer skills
- Physical demands if applicable
- Travel if applicable

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $76,000-$86,000
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s quarterly bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
