Position Title: Terminal Supervisor

Department: Operations

Location: Nacogdoches, TX

Reports to:  Terminal Manager

 

Position Summary

The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations at the Nacogdoches terminal, including live haul and hatchery transportation. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and strong customer relationships while leading a team of drivers and support staff. The Terminal Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining fleet readiness, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting business growth initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Driver Oversight

  • Supervise and support drivers in daily operations, ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Manage driver-related functions including scheduling, home time, employee relations, and claims resolution.
  • Foster a positive and professional working relationship between drivers and management.

 

Operations Management

  • Oversee terminal operations including live haul and hatchery transportation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure timely completion of preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal weight standards and equipment readiness.
  • Manage load planning and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements and business growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce adherence to JBS Carriers Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service regulations and other transportation laws.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all terminal operations.

 

Customer Service & Communication

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure service expectations are met.
  • Coordinate load information and resolve service issues promptly.
  • Support HR-led initiatives including payroll, disciplinary actions, and internal communications.

 

Financial Management

  • Oversee terminal-level Profit & Loss (P&L) performance and ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets to support operational efficiency and cost control.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in the trucking industry.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with TMW/TMT and Qualcomm preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Profit & Loss statements and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA compliance and Hours of Service regulations.
  • Effective time management and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in agricultural transportation, tanker trailers, or international shipping containers is a plus.
  • Above-average knowledge of truck maintenance required.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and maintain productive driver relationships.

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

 

 

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $70,000-75,000 annually; and
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
