Dry Pick-up (Janitor)
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete and comply with mandatory safety training as outlined for the job assignment
- Complete and comply with food safety/GMP training as outlined for the job assignment
- To clean and sanitize machinery and floors in a production line setting
- Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around assigned area, basic floor pick-up, trash removal, setting up and tearing down floor mats,
- Set up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
- Monitor and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas
- May require use of a water hose, squeegee, etc.
- Stay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazard
- Perform other duties as needed or as assigned
Qualifications
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.
- Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
- Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
- Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must use proper personal protective equipment effectively
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
- Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others
- Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
- Strong desire to work hands-on work environment
- Good attendance and safety records
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Work Environment
Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays.

- Slippery floors, cold temperatures
