Maintenance Safety Auditor

Location: JBS Grand Island Beef

Schedule: Hours to be determined

Position Summary

The Maintenance Safety Auditor is responsible for conducting safety audits, verifying compliance with OSHA and JBS safety standards, and ensuring maintenance personnel follow proper procedures. This role supports a strong safety culture by identifying risks, documenting findings, and driving corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety audits on maintenance activities and equipment.
• Verify compliance with Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, and Powered Industrial Truck procedures.
• Document audit results, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion and compliance.
• Audit maintenance employee competency in core safety practices.
• Ensure new hires and current employees understand required safety policies.
• Maintain accurate audit records and communicate findings to management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background (welding, power transmission, hydraulics, electrical).
• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
