Job Title: Employment Manager
Reporting to: HR Director
This position oversees the entire recruitment process for all JBS-Omaha employees by identifying the top candidates for open positions. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, developing recruiting strategies, participating in job fairs, reviewing resumes, pre-screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and onboarding paperwork.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct interviews and make job offers for all plant areas, closely considering applicants’ qualifications, skills, and abilities, and aligning the skills and abilities of open jobs with those of the most qualified candidate.
- Responsible for reviewing employment documents for authenticity, validity, and satisfactory completion of Form I-9.
- Conduct background checks on new employees and ensure all employment documents are received promptly.
- Responsible for maintaining various reports tracking open jobs, employee job bids, EAD expiry, employee qualifications, and new hire information.
- Maintain applications in JobVite.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager, Sanitation Side Manager, Fabrication Superintendent, Maintenance Superintendents, and Harvest Superintendent to identify employment vacancies..
- Answer phones and organize files as necessary.
- Cross-train in all Human Resources functions.
- All other duties assigned by the Human Resources Director or HR Manager.
- Ensure adherence to employment law and company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent customer service skills, including good oral and written communication.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to calmly and effectively handle stressful situations.
- Results-oriented. Excellent problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Computer knowledge required (prefer experience with SAP and/or Kronos with proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Bilingual skills highly preferred. (English/Spanish).
- A high school degree is required; some colleges prefer it, but do not require it.
- Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time
