Position Summary: The individual selected for this position will assume all duties of Maintenance Mechanic at our Protein Conversion facility.  
  
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Must be able to work well with others, communication with others, and have good decision-making ability.
  • Desire to be part of a proactive, motivated maintenance team.
  • Individual will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of machines in the Maintenance Dept.
  • Individual will be trained to do other jobs in the department.
  • Must be able to lift 85 lbs. and be able to work at high heights.
  • Must be able to do administrative duties and records, ie (P.M’s, logs, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and possibly have to work different shifts (day, evening, or night).
  • Must be willing to travel to other locations for projects.
  • Must be willing to get pipe certification in welding.
  • Prefer at least two years’ experience. Must complete a successful background check.
  • Other duties as directed.
Basic Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions. 
  • Skills in mechanics, welding, and electrical fields is preferred. Must have mechanical ability, mechanical experience is preferred. 
  • Ability to apply common sense. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees). 
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day. 
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly. 
  • Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.) 
  • Must have good communication skills. 
  • Good hand and eye coordination required. 
  • Food or production experience preferred.
