MAINTENANCE SCALE TECHNICIAN

Position Summary: The individual selected for this position will assume all duties of a Scale Technician. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Calibrating scales, weigh scales and check way lines
  • Rebuild scale printers when required
  • Programing metal detectors and scaling stations
  • Troubleshooting and repairing scanning stations, paging systems and telephones
  • Programing variable frequency drives
  • Must be able to work well with others, communication with others, and have good decision-making ability. 
  • Desire to be part of a proactive, motivated maintenance team. 
  • Must be able to lift 85 lbs. and be able to work at high heights. 
  • Must be able to do administrative duties and records, ie (P.M’s, logs, etc.) 
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and humidity. 
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and possibly have to work different shifts (day, evening, or night). 
  • Prefer at least two years’ experience. Must complete a successful background check. 
  • Other duties as directed. 

Basic Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions. 
  • Ability to apply common sense. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees). 
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day. 
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly. 
  • Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.) 
  • Must have good communication skills. 
  • Good hand and eye coordination required. 
  • Food or production experience preferred. 
  • Associates Degree or an Associates Degree, a technical certificate in electronics or 3-5 years’ experience in industrial electronics preferred
