POSITION: 2nd Shift NSIS/QA Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Quality Control
LOCATION: Worthington
SALARY CLASS: Exempt
Purpose & Scope: Oversee quality and food safety aspects of production
Principle Responsibilities: List and describe (in order of importance) the specific tasks, assignments, level of discretionary authority and/or functions performed.
· Coordinate and supervise pre-operation examination, when applicable. Examine and verify cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities.
· Plan weekly rotation of the NSIS techs.
· Full involvement with the NSIS program, including tech organization, rotation, and issues.
· Get involved in verifying and improving the cold chain of our products
· Develop educational plans for the continuous learning of QA Techs
· Complete daily paperwork, including payroll, mail, inspections, etc.
· Resolve problems and issues with products and employees as they arise.
· Communicate frequently with USDA inspectors regarding food safety concerns or related to NSIS.
· Ensure HACCP plan compliance.
· Establish and maintain shelf-life requirements, shed product specifications, leaker testing, formulation weights, temperatures, and other necessary standards
· Coordinate and participate in the plant Audits.
· Help develop our food safety culture by collaborating on displays and other activities.
· Direct, motivate, and monitor Q.A. employees.
· Monitor and ensure proper procedures and cleanliness of production employees
· Ensure completion of all QA duties
· Perform various other duties as needed.
Working Conditions: Work 40+ hours per week in production areas. Exposed to all hazards present, including slippery floors, machinery, noise, extreme temperature variations, etc.
Requirements: Describe necessary knowledge or skills, and type and amount of formal schooling, and work experience normally required to obtain these. Do not describe your own particular background.
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree, science related field preferred (will substitute experience for education)
Experience: NSIS and QA knowledge, Experience in supervising people.
Special Skills:
· Knowledge of multiple languages helpful. Computer and organizational skills
· Ability to make quick, informed decisions. NSIS knowledge
· Supervisory and interpersonal skills; ability to handle conflict.
Relationships
Internal: Frequent communication with all levels of employees and management concerning all issues relating to product, USDA and NSIS
External: Frequent communication with USDA inspectors. Occasional communication with customers, suppliers, laboratories
Supervision of Personnel: List titles reporting directly through you and number of employees reporting through each
Manages: QA and NSIS Technicians (Teams ranging from 6-15 employees)

· Base annual salary range: $63k-68k
