QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERINTENDENT
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and coordinates quality control program to ensure continuous production / service consistent with established standards.
Implements and manages food safety programs and controls, audits and Food Defense programs.
Plans and conducts training activities related to quality and food safety.
Manages installation, inspection and testing procedures for finished products.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in resolving work problems.
Implements and coordinates quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality, reliability and minimize costs.
Manages and updates the HACCP program and works closely with USDA to ensure all regulations are properly followed.
May investigate customer complaints regarding quality.
Manages through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities services and products
BASIC SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have 3 to 5 years supervisory experience, to include working knowledge of fast food operations, poultry processing or food industry experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs.
3 – 5 years practical experience in Q.A.
Must have working knowledge of HACCP and SSOP plans and be able to review for accuracy and compliance the documentation created by HACCP and SSOP plans, USDA Regulations and Standards .
Must be self-motivated and able to work well with other employees, both hourly and salaried, and USDA Inspectors.
Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be able to follow tasks to successful completion, delegate responsibility and handle multiple tasks at one time.
Must be dependable, prompt and willing to work weekends or as needed to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Food Science, Poultry Science, Food Microbiology or Food Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
