Job Title: Sanitation Safety Supervisor

Location: Omaha

Reports to: Safety Manager

  • Job Description:

          Maintains compliance programs, files, and records in accordance with company and government regulations.

          May assist in training Authorized (qualified) and Affected Safety classes.

          Corrects working conditions using knowledge of chemicals and processes.

          May be asked to escort employees from all agencies conducting safety, fire, and physical security audits of the facility.

          Assesses new developments in the health and safety field to benefit the Sanitation Department.

          Promotes and encourages participation in safety, health, and environmental programs.

          Conducts chemical sampling and other monitoring.

          Inspects all operations performed daily and the storage of materials for compliance with company standards.

          Assists the supervisor in conducting investigations of injury accidents and near-miss incidents during the corresponding shift and reports findings to appropriate people.

          Conducts spot checks (verifications) on Supervisor PPE inspections, fire extinguishers, emergency eyewash and showers, emergency lights/exits, emergency equipment (Haz-mat), and chemical storage.

          Writes reports, implements the safety program, trains employees, inspects the facility for adequate fire protection, and ensures that all equipment is in good working condition.

          A large amount of walking and stair climbing is required.

          Noise and temperature levels vary depending on which area of the plant.

  • Ensure adequate number of employees are certified in First Aid/CPR/AED across all shifts and departments.
  • Coordinate and schedule initial and refresher first aid training in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
  • Maintain training records and certifications, ensuring documentation is current and audit-ready.
  • Additional employee training responsibilities.

 

 

Experience / Qualifications: The below would be a plus, not required

CPR/First Aid Training.

OSHA Training Courses.

Program, planning, and evaluation techniques.

Strong computer skills.

Strong written, verbal, analytical, and persuasive skills, with the ability to interact effectively and communicate with all levels of employees and management.

Bilingual communication is a plus.

Microsoft Office proficiency.

Leadership skills.

Food Safety Knowledge.

Able to multitask.

Attention to detail.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Willing to work extended hours and weekends as required, with a flexible schedule.

Willing to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
