Job Title: Protein Conversion Production Leadperson – 2nd Shift

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote safety throughout the plant and department
- Promote department and company goodwill through proactive employee communication and employee involvement.
- Must work well with others.
- Must be able to follow specific instructions.
- Will recommend hiring, promotion, and corrective actions of employees.
- Will train and assist in supervision of employees.
- Will assist in completion of required documents and checks.
- Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
- Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
- Clean and organized work area.
- Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
- Observes all company personnel, quality, safety and food safety policies. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
- Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
- Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
- Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical school degree or certificate preferred.
- Experience: Poultry or food manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Skills: Ability to multitask and work quickly in a fast-paced environment, have good communication skills, ability to comprehend instructions and apply common sense, have strong attention to detail, and must be a team player.
- Physical requirements: Ability to work in warm & cold temperatures and lift 50 bs or more.
- Must be able to drive a straight gear truck
- Willing to learn to operate all systems and machinery and make quick decisions
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed
- Must be a team player and have a positive attitude
- Excellent attendance (4 points or less), safety and work record
- Ability to work without direct supervision
