Position Description:  

A Trimmer Operator can be assigned to the Production Area as a Knife Operator or Trimmer Operator. The operator will need to perform and understand the following:
  • Understand machine safety and safety switches
  • Understand machine controls
  • Understand acceptable output of machine (product specification)
  • Perform pre-start up analysis and maintain daily activity log
  • Identify machine malfunctions and notify management
  • Understand and maintain product flow and procedures
  • Understand customer’s trim specifications and sub primals
  • Make product change adjustments
  • Maintain labor standards and pace
  • Good Meat cutting skills for both Beef and Pork products
  • Good knife sharpening skills
  • Knowledge of various cuts/styles for Beef and Pork products
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of production equipment
  • Must be able to lift 5+ pounds
  • Monitor and program metal detector and document performance
  • Understand Food Safety, GMP, SSOP requirements

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant walking and or standing
  • Use of hands to fingers
  • Feel objects
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Lift, push, pull 5lb to 10lb
  • Vision capabilities
  • Talk/hear

 

EXPOSURE/RISK

  • Cold, wet and damp environment
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Uneven walking surfaces and slippery floors

Hourly Pay $21.50
