Cost Accountant
General Summary: We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join us onsite at the Corporate office in Greeley, CO. This person will be responsible for conducting moderately complex cost studies. They will also prepare and analyze cost reports.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of new or proposed product costs
- Maintain bill of materials and product routings
- Analyze actual costs versus standard costs and prepare reports of variances. Analyze data obtained and record results
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Compute cost value of work in process for inventory purposes. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
- Analyze cost records to ascertain distribution of costs for various divisions of management and production
- Classify labor, material, and overhead costs to compute the unit cost of product or service
- Record cost data for use by management in controlling expenditures
- Conduct and analyze audits of costs and prepare reports. Compile cost data for preparation of operating budgets
- May determine and install cost accounting methods and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of directly related experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with internal and external customers
- May require availability outside of normal business hours (one Sunday morning per quarter)
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $55,000-$59,000;
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
