JOB SUMMARY: 

 

Responsible for supervision of all maintenance aspects of assigned production area. Takes direction from Operations Maintenance Manager on scheduling, line preparation, and production execution. Direct supervisor for assigned employees. Manages maintenance personnel for day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed schedules priorities, production flow, and processing specifications to ensure production efficiencies are met. Evaluates assigned work performance and takes corrective action. Leads, coaches, and trains assigned personnel on work standards and ensures said standards are being followed constantly.  Are expected to use tools as required to resolve issues.   

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 

 

  1. Acts as a lead by training, mentoring, scheduling, counseling, and providing guidance to hourly Maintenance employees. 
  1. Provides leadership through effective communication and coaching. 
  1. Provides assistance and support as needed. 
  1. Ensures a positive work environment exhibiting the company’s culture of respect for all employees. 
  1. Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach. 
  1. Notifies Maintenance Manager when problems arise. 
  1. Maintains open dialogue with assigned team. 
  1. When approached with feedback and concerns, resolves them in the most direct and positive way possible. 
  1. Ensures all company policies are followed. 
  1. Supports Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, equipment PCL and Process Controls software and ensures necessary repairs are completed expeditiously.  
  1. Provides leadership for planning and executing of preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs. Provide leadership for Technicians who are performing these tasks.  
  1. Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment. 
  1. Provides leadership for Maintenance technicians performing equipment installs, parts replacement, equipment troubleshooting, etc.  
  1. Leads and supports Technicians in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, equipment PLC and Process Control software and ensures necessary repairs are completed expeditiously. 
  1. Manages outside contractors to perform repairs on failed machinery and equipment.  
  1. Understands the tools and equipment needed to do each job. 
  1. Understands and determines when and what type of maintenance is needed. 
  1. Determines causes of operating errors and processes ability to tell when something is likely to go wrong before downtime occurs. 
  1. Inspects of tests damaged machine arts and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of needs for repair.  
  1. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.  
  1. Provides leadership for planning and executing of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.  Provide leadership for Technicians who are performing these tasks. 
  1. Leads equipment installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment. 
  1. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules. 
  1. Completes maintenance recordkeeping. 
  1. Keeps record of all work performed. 
  1. Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork. 
  1. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs. 
  1. Understand and follow the company GMP policy. 
  1. Understand and follow the company safety rules. 
  1. May be required to work long hours and weekends. 
  1. May assume other duties as assigned. 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification 
  • At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required 
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial, PLC and HVAC experience 
  • AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred 
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications 
  • Good math skills 
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail 
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude 
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others 
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance 

 

 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

 

ACTIVITIES: 

 

Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day 

HEARING: 

 

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. 

 

REPETITIVE MOTION: 

 

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers. 

 

VISUAL ABILITIES: 

 

Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 

 

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: 

 

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

 

Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.
