Job Summary
The Debone - Cone Loader is responsible for loading chicken front halves onto processing cones from the front half conveyor belt. This role is essential to maintaining production flow and ensuring cones remain properly loaded according to production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Load chicken front halves onto cones with the breast side facing forward.
- Ensure all cones remain filled at all times while maintaining the production requirement of approximately 38 birds per minute.
- Monitor product placement to ensure consistency and processing efficiency.
- Follow all food safety, quality, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (8 to 8.5 hours per day).
- Ability to use both hands continuously from below waist level to midway between the waist and shoulders.
- Ability to grasp, reach, and handle products throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and place chicken front halves weighing approximately 1.5 to 2 pounds each.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced production environment.
Work Environment
- Cold and wet processing environment.
- Temperatures typically range from 40°F to 45°F or lower.
- Exposure to damp conditions and refrigerated production areas.
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a cold manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Need:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Experience: Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
- Skills: Ability to multitask and work quickly, have good communication skills, ability to comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense, and must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)
- Physical requirements: Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees), ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day and lift 50 bs or more.
