JOB SUMMARY:

 

Supervises all activities associated with warehousing of finished goods and shipping operations. Coordinates warehouse operations in support of production by maintaining finished goods and dry goods inventory levels. Responsible for accurate inventory control of finished goods, quality checks and documentation of all outbound shipments.  Responsible for monitoring the condition, temperature and codes on all trailers containing product ready for shipment. Coordinates production, warehouse, purchasing, and shipping activities to achieve facility objectives. Reviews and implements policies to improve customer service. Keeps facility management well informed of daily activities and provides recommendations for areas of improvement.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

  1. Effectively manages assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.

    3. Trains and advises employees on current daily needs.

    5. Assists with personnel decisions including hiring, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions.
    6. Ensures a positive work environment exhibiting Empire’s culture of respect for all employees.
      1. Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach.
    7. Notifies Warehouse Manager when problems arise.
    8. Resolves problems in the most direct and positive way when approached with feedback and concerns.
    9. Ensures all company policies are followed and has an expert knowledge of company policies.
    10. Ensure all E21 procedures are being followed according to official standard operating procedures (SOPs) including
  2. Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Shipping functions.
    1. Coordinates the order process of all supplies to ensure production schedules are met. (pallet and tote supply)
    2. Coordinates all outbound shipments, schedule pickups and efficiently processes all Sales Orders.
    3. Supervises all warehousing activity and inventory control for the facility by accurately maintaining finished goods inventories within the WMS.
    4. Ensures that dry goods and raw material inventory is maintained at optimal levels to meet production demand.
    5. Ensures the rotation of inventory and first in, first expired.
    6. Ensures that picking, staging of orders and inventory functions are completed in accordance with established safety and facility quality standards.
    7. Ensures problems that involve damaged goods, incorrect orders, and missing goods are resolved in a timely manner.
    8. Communication to proper management regarding any issues.
  3. Ensures receiving functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    1. Ensures that established safety and quality standards are met.
    2. Ensures that schedules and deadlines are followed.
  4. Maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.
    1. Directs, assists, coordinates, and supports Shipping Clerks as needed.
      1. Assists with training and scheduling.
    2. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.  Identifies problems and provides suggestions.
    3. Attends meetings as required.
  5. Compliance
    1. Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
    2. Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.
    3. Ensures that shipping, receiving, putaway and production functions are completed in accordance with established safety, and quality standards.
  6. May assume other duties as assigned
    1. Ensures that pallets are prepared for product shipping.
    2. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
    3. Completed special projects as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • SQF, GMP, and HACCP certification
  • Fork Lift certification
  • One or more years supervisory experience in a facility setting
  • Three or more years in warehousing process
  • Understanding of inventory management functions
  • SAP, E21 and RF experience
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperatively with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
  • Knowledge of product protection requirements and packing procedures
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Strong math skills

 

 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

ACTIVITIES:

 

Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently.

 

HEARING:

 

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

 

REPETITIVE MOTION:

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

 

VISUAL ABILITIES:

 

Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

 

 

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

 

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days.
