Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Review and organize operations and food safety records
  • Data entry of trends to identify and support continuous improvement
  • Manage the Hold and Release process completing daily hold verifications, verify hold reconciliations, daily hold summaries, and communicating hold statuses.  Use of SAP and Shop Floor along with reconciliation of paper forms.
  • Assisting with R&D tests, commercialization of new items/equipment/packaging to meet regulatory, food safety, and quality concerns to ensure full compliance
  • Entering and monitoring completion of work notifications to ensure facility repairs are made per required timelines
  • Fill in for FSQA Supervisors/FSQA Techs to cover vacations and absences
  • FSQA representation during New Hire Orientation; communicating training materials to set the expectations for food safety and quality 
  • Act as the FSQA Trainer for the FSQA Department and support for Operations and Maintenance pertaining to FSQA trainings; make updates to trainings and tracking training status
  • Lead New Hire Orientation training, communicating FSQA SOPs to ensure all plant personnel are trained to FSQA requirements pertaining to food handling and quality specifications
  • Collect and review sales samples as requested by the sales team in compliance with requested dates of shipment
  • Conduct internal audits including but not limited to GMP’s, Glass and Brittle Plastic, foreign material, SQF standard
  • Work closely with management to conduct customer complaint investigations (compile data, graphs and supporting documentation.  Also working with the cross functional team to be able to track and trace the finished good to the customer), quality product cuttings, and first production reviews 
 
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience and technical knowledge in a variety of production jobs
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Must have a strong drive to learn and adaptable to change
  • Willing to be flexible in work schedule, available to cover night shift Supervisor for planned vacations and absences
  • Must have or be willing to obtain HACCP Certification and SQF Certification
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
