Work Schedule: 2nd Shift (Flexibility to work 1st or 3rd)Travel Requirements: 0-25%
Job Summary:
The Product Manager manages a set of product categories within the Beardstown, IL facility. The product manager leads the internal processes for core assortment and steady-state changes, issue resolution involving internal and external stake holders. The product manager will perform ongoing product evaluations to ensure specification and adherence and awareness of items in the marketplace.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with department heads regarding the product
- Audit Product manually and receive audits to verify proper procedures and efficiency
- Test new products and packaging of product for cost-effectiveness, efficiency and value
- Communicate in person and by phone with customers to increase satisfaction and knowledge of available products
- Examine previous day’s yields for variances and problems; determine reasons for variances, develop solutions/new procedures and implement as needed
- Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained
- Attend and schedule appropriate meetings
- Review slicing yield tests on a regular basis to verify pricing data and confirm the company is receiving bellies that meet contractual specifications
- Work closely with sales and operations on research and product development, includes but not limited to:
- Brine development, formulation and maintenance
- Product matching
- Product testing: new ingredients, equipment, packaging, shelf life
- Customer specification creation
- Product quality monitoring
- New product implementation
- Other duties as required

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual (Spanish, French, Creole, Burmese)
- Ability to work with SAP System
- Extensive knowledge and technical skills in a variety of production jobs
- Previous experience in further processing
Working Conditions
- Work 40+ hours per week in various areas of the facility
- 1st and 2nd shift rotations and weekends as needed
- Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, chemicals, sharp objects (knives), machinery and vehicles

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in food/Meat Science (Strongly Preferred but not required) or Equivalent Work Experience.
- Must have Protein Manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Climbing stairs.
- Regular Visits to Production Floor: Hot, Cold, Smells, PPE Required
Pay Range
- $86,839-$105,508
- Annual bonus potential
