SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Production (Summer 2026)
JBS Live Pork is seeking a highly motivated and passionate summer
intern to join our accounting team. Our goal is that this program will help lead you to a future career in
accounting. With that in mind, this program can be customized to fit
your individual interests and desired future career path!
Overview:
This program is designed to foster interest in a career within the
pork industry by gaining in-depth knowledge of multiple areas within
the business, including feed manufacturing and sow and finish
production. This is a paid internship, and housing is provided while
enrolled in the program. Once the program is completed,
opportunity will be given to present your experiences and provide
feedback to key members of the live pork team. We want to hear
Key Responsibilities
- Feed Manufacturing:
- Observe processes and procedures relating to our feed mill
operations, from taking feed orders to the loadout process. - Learn the ins and outs of receiving ingredients, keeping inventory,
and feed quality control.
Wean-Finish Production
- Learn about pig flow, stocking strategy, and marketing based
upon health and logistics. - Learn about modern hog farming, including facility design and
ventilation, by being exposed to a variety of different designs. - Spend time with Field Manager(s) to understand routine
responsibilities and interacting with key team members such as,
contract producers, vet services, and production accounting.
Sow Production
- Learn aspects of the breeding barn including breeding sows and
caring for them throughout gestation. - Learn about the farrowing house from loading through weaning of
pigs. - Learn overall farm flow and how wean pig flow directly relates to
finishing flow - an overall big picture of sow farm production.
