Pilgrim's Pride is seeking a Production / Demand Planner for the Prepared Food business unit based at our Corporate Headquarters in Greeley, CO.  

This position is responsible for forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Planner creates and maintains forecast models for customers and products, incorporating business intelligence and forecasting information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts and other sources. The Planner is the integration point between sales, operations and supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function. 
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with sales, marketing and customer finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Use and maintain the demand planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs.
  • Manage and maintain OFR indicators for the organization's key customers.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.
  • Assist with the creation and monitoring of the monthly sales and operations plan. 
  • Drive monthly consensus calls with sales and marketing.
  • Coordinate and generate the zero-based budget for prepared foods.
  • Performing other related duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of food production industry experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • An ability to view the supply chain as a series of linked processes.
  • A solid understanding of electronic business systems.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to details.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed.
  • Knowledge of APO/SAP or other software related to demand planning preferred.
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate 

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): eligible after 90 days of employment including company match which begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
  • Base salary range of $55,000-$70,000; and
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
