Position Description:

This position would be responsible for the development and management of an Asset Protection process in the facility, this would include the interaction and coordination with all MTC divisions in the development and implementation and Maintenance of but not limited to the Fire protection systems, Utility isolation, Facility Gas lines and fire prevention procedures in the facility. Will be working with every department on PM’s, inspections, cleaning and testing. Will work with contractor to schedule all necessary inspections and testing of the facility fire system annually, quarterly and monthly Fire Inspections as needed by the facility. Works with Rendering, Slaughter, Fab Floor, Waste water, Boiler & refrigeration, shipping, welfare and Safety on areas on inspections and cleaning schedules. Verify/Audit all work performed on a weekly, monthly quarterly and annual PM’s on high risk areas and equipment. Set up and conduct follow up meetings with department heads regarding each system. Will keep Facility Insurance Company up to date on any changes and/or repairs to the Fire System. Will report all findings to Facility Management and Corporate on a Monthly basis. Management of Annual and Quarterly Crane inspections. This position would report to the plant engineer with a dotted line to Corp engineering team.


              Development and implement a 13 step asset protection plan to include the following

  • Employee Training
    • Proper execution of SOP’s and Preventative Maint procedures
  • Process Equipment
    • Documentation pertaining to the protected equipment, P&ID’s
  • Risk Analysis
    • What if process of equipment
  • Standard Operating Procedures
    • Of protection systems and PMs
  • Training
    • Of all MTC personnel on SOP’s, PMs, Response
  • Engineering and Process MTC
    • Follow up on any work on systems
    • Follow up on insurance inspections and recommendations
  • Pre-Start up Reviews
    • Ensuring all items required are met
  • Reliability Integrity
    • Development and follow up of system inspections to include but not limited to operational readiness, condition of systems
  • Impairment
    • Proper notification and documentation of protective system impairments
  • Management of Change
    • Proper documentation and training on changes
  • Incident investigation
    • To include near misses
  • Incident Response Planning
    • Train understanding the plant ERP
  • System Audits
    • Internal monthly audits
    • Coordinate annual audits with Corp Engineering


  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details
  • Self-starter and very organized
  • Computer skills and knowledge of basic office & Excel software necessary
  • Ability to navigate SAP Program
  • Available to work weekend, evenings and possibly Holidays
  • Ability to attend Quarterly & Annual Inspections as needed
  • Must be available to Travel to other Facilities


The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time off: sick leave, vacation and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): eligible after the 1st day of employment including company match which begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
  • Base salary range of $67,200 - $83,000
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan; the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
