Job Title: Rendering Plant Blending Operator
Location: Elizabethville, PA
Job Summary:
The Rendering Plant Lead Operator is responsible for accurately blending raw materials, additives, and by-products to produce consistent, high-quality rendering products. This role ensures that production processes run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate blending equipment, mixers, and other machinery according to production schedules and specifications.
- Accurately measure and mix raw materials, by-products, and additives based on established formulas.
- Monitor product consistency, temperature, and quality throughout the blending process.
- Maintain production records, including batch sheets, quality checks, and inventory usage.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on blending equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, plant procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with unloading, storage, and handling of raw materials and finished products.
- Collaborate with the production team to optimize process efficiency and reduce waste.
- Report any production or quality issues to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education preferred.
- Prior experience in a rendering plant, food processing, or chemical blending environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of blending equipment, industrial mixers, and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise formulas and procedures.
- Basic math and computer skills for production records and data entry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures (hot/cold) typical of a rendering plant.
- Ability to operate machinery and handle materials safely.
