Planterra Foods is a fully funded plant-based protein start-up in Boulder County, CO. It’s an investment by the JBS Company, the second largest global food company and the world’s largest protein producer.

Planterra Foods is building its team and looking for a talented and driven and proactive professional to be based in Boulder County, CO to help build the best plant-based protein company in the world.

A successful candidate must be passionate about plant based protein and moving quickly with a nimble, solutions oriented and collaborative approach.  S/he should have a bias for action, easily understand the business dynamics and see the big picture, and be curious. The Innovation Brand Manager will be integral in planning and executing the one to three-year innovation pipeline for the OZO brand and Planterra Foods.  In order to do this, the BM will need to be able to have a vision for what plant-based protein could be in the future and work with a cross functional team to drive alignment and turn that vision into a reality. 



  • Champion innovation projects - leading and driving projects from inception through commercialization, including
    • Developing basis of interest
    • Conducting size of prize analysis
    • Leading cross functional teams
    • Developing sell in material
    • Owning project advancement through stage gate process and completion of project management deliverables
  • Map, develop and monitor relevant market trends and indicators, category size and growth, and analyze competitor movements to inform innovation strategy
  • Translate market trends into insights to inform decisions on product portfolio and value proposition
  • Manage Innovation Budget
  • Own 12-month innovation pipeline for OZO brand across food, mass, club, and foodservice channels
  • Support Strategy and Innovation Director on 3-year Innovation Pipeline and Strategic Growth Plan for OZO brand and Planterra Foods



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. MBA preferred
  • At least 4 years of CPG brand management experience required
  • Food industry experience preferred
  • Passion for natural/organic foods
  • Experience leading cross functional teams and working closely with insights, project management, R&D, finance, and supply chain
  • Demonstrated ability to shape a vision and strategy and translate it into concrete actions and plans
  • Understanding of strategy, marketing, sales and analytics tools
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong attention to detail
  • Learning mindset and intellectually curious
  • Proven track record of extracting simplified recommendations from complex data sets for problem solving
  • Excellent communication and relational skills
  • Ability to understand the decision making process and to communicate and support multiple teams towards a common goal
  • Familiarity with Nielsen or IRI data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of reporting tools and concepts
  • Organized, strong planner and able to drive multiple projects forward at the same time
  • Demonstrate ability to adjust to multiple personalities and management styles
