Alvey Maintenance Technician Supervisor
The Alvey Maintenance Technician Supervisor oversees all Alvey automation and scale‑related maintenance activities at the JBS Grand Island Beef Plant. This role is responsible for leading the Alvey Maintenance Tech team, ensuring reliable operation of automated equipment, conveyors, scales, and related control systems. The supervisor provides hands‑on technical support, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with company maintenance and technology standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the Alvey Maintenance Technician Department.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Alvey automated equipment, conveyors, scales, and associated control systems.
- Support production by ensuring uptime and reliability of all Alvey systems.
- Document maintenance procedures, equipment configurations, and site‑specific SOPs.
- Coordinate and manage maintenance projects related to Alvey automation and scale systems.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs for mechanical, electrical, and control‑system issues.
- Collaborate with production leadership to prioritize maintenance needs and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and equipment standards related to Alvey systems.
- Assist with equipment procurement, replacement planning, and system upgrades.
- Provide on‑call support for unexpected equipment failures or plant emergencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
- Five years of related industrial maintenance or automation experience (Alvey/automation strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control‑system troubleshooting.
- Experience with automated conveyor systems, scales, and industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with Windows‑based systems used for scale or automation interfaces.
- Strong communication skills; Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and support mindset.
- Comfortable working in a plant/industrial environment.
- Willingness to travel when required.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Technical certifications (A+, industrial maintenance, automation, PLC coursework) preferred.
