Pilgrim’s wants YOU to join our Human Resource Team as a Human Resource Intern! This position starts at $21.00/hour.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Intern will participate in cross-functional projects under the guidance of the Employment Manager. The intern will be involved in cross training activities to develop their vision and understanding of HR processing procedures and goals. This position is designed to expose students to real-world experiences and learning in their field of study.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  • Participate in projects as designated by mentor to increase understanding of company operations and HR processes and make potential improvements to the processes and procedures. Examples may include:
  • Performs clerical duties, takes calls, maintains files, and organizes documents.
  • Assists with employee recognition programs.
  • Prepares and implements social media platforms for recruiting.
  • Assists in setting up interviews, conducting interviews and hiring applicants.
  • Assists in preparation of team member communications, HR events, and team member events as necessary.
 
EXPECTATIONS 
  • Team Members Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. 
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
  • Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies such as Six Sigma.
  • Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks.  Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
  • Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year program. Human Resources, Marketing, Agriculture or Business Management is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Social Media platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills
