Assistant broiler manager
Description
Essential Duties
- Supervise broiler service technicians and biosecurity compliance officer.
- Train and develop service technicians and supervisors.
- Implement Pilgrim’s broiler management and bird health programs. Monitor adherence to those programs by personnel and contract growers.
- Perform daily evaluations of service routes and farm performance as it relates to live cost.
- Monitor day-to-day flock health and plant efficiency.
- Oversee complex housing program.
- Work with hatchery management to ensure proper placement density is met.
- Ensure all animal welfare guidelines are followed.
- NAE Program Responsibilities
- Communicate any elevated mortality to Live Production Manager.
- Ensure that any antibiotic treatment is administered in accordance with veterinary prescription and directions.
- Ensure annual training of contract growers is completed.
- Serve as Process Verification Point for kill sheet in absence of Live Production Manager.
- Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a poultry science or related field.
- Typically requires greater than 2 up to 5 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
- 5-7 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. SAP experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Current driver’s license and good driving record.
