Scope Of Position:
Apply company employee relations and union contract policies in all dealing with employees. Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production. Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained (i.e., payroll, sanitation, chemicals, etc.). Work closely with other supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in plant facility. Attend meetings as scheduled or called. Perform various other duties as needed or as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all team members related to the department
- Evaluate and direct personnel on shift in performing operation according to sound operation principles and company policies and procedures
- Stimulate maximum safety, efficiency and productivity of workers
- Ensure proper training of team members
- Anticipate and determine causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate actions to meet production schedule

Skills and Qualifications:

- Work regularly in temperatures are near or below freezing (Coolers, Loading Dock Freezer)
- Extensive knowledge of Sanitation Practices
- Be able to communicate verbally and in written form in English
- Bi-lingual helpful but not required
- Consult Plant Manager with all sanitation-related decisions and issues.
- Ability to follow instructions given by supervision.
- Ability to visually inspect equipment, and processes.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
- Ability to understand production schedules, safety signs, labels, and company policies/procedures.
- Available to work nights
- Willing and capable of working Saturdays
LIFTING/ PUSHING/PULLING – 10 lbs. -50 lbs. production
NEUTRAL WRIST- Repetitive hand motions and grasping.
REACHING – Reaching for product on the conveyor belt with hooks, reaching for boxes, or bags
STANDING – Constant standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (Loading dock 7 days as needed per schedule.) (2 allowed breaks are scheduled based on the union contract and operational requirements.)
Working Conditions:
- Production and maintenance settings
- Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives
- Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise
- Ability to work 50+ hours
- Good attendance and safety records
Comments:
The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled. During Fall Season, Saturdays are typically scheduled.
