Senior Feed Ingredient Specialist
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: Pilgrim’s is looking for a Senior Feed Ingredient Specialist responsible for timely and accurate execution of micro-ingredient purchase orders, including needed coordination with merchandisers, feed mill clerks, vendor management and accounts payable personnel. Other responsibilities include implementing SAP changes associated with feed additives and animal health products, integrating new internal grain/oilseeds/feed additives customers, and participation in projects and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage purchase orders in SAP
- Support 25 Feed Mills across the country
- Reconciliation and invoicing oversight
- Facilitate documentation and communication between new vendors and Vendor Management team
- Spearhead relationships and build rapport with vendors, feed mills and customers across the country
- Administer and manage rebate programs for micro-ingredients across multiple feed mills, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance.
- Support merchandisers with reports of open contract balances, distribution and collection of contract confirmations and other documentation, assistance in correction of payment discrepancies
- Assist in logistics and execution of purchase orders to feed mills
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business or related area strongly preferred
- 2-3 years of Trade or Risk experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to work well within Trade team and collaborate with key stakeholders
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills to handle pushback
- SAP experience strongly preferred
- General knowledge of accounting process and ability to reconcile information strongly preferred
- Must maintain a high level of accuracy at attention to detail
- Strong work ethic – self-motivated and driven
- Ability to map and communicate multi-step processes to end users and customers
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $70,000-$90,000
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
