Orientation Trainer – 2nd Shift

The Orientation Trainer is responsible for administering, coordinating, tracking, and evaluating all new hire orientation and onboarding training programs to ensure compliance with company policies and People Pillar initiatives. This position serves as a key resource for new employees, helping them successfully transition into the organization while fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment. The Orientation Trainer works closely with Human Resources, Operations, Benefits, and Excellence Coordinators to ensure all training requirements are completed and documented accurately. The orientation trainer also coordinates and manages the complex monthly safety/policy trainings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, track, and evaluate all New Hire Orientation and onboarding training programs in accordance with company standards and People Pillar requirements.
- Facilitate and deliver engaging orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
- Supervise new hires during the onboarding and training period and provide recommendations to management and Human Resources regarding training progress, development needs, concerns, and continued employment.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with new hires, peers, supervisors, managers, and internal clients.
- Collaborate with trainers, supervisors, Human Resources, Benefits Coordinators, and operational leaders to review and improve training materials, processes, and programs.
- Coordinate and schedule training activities, including managing multiple and concurrent training sessions as needed.
- Organize, prepare, and maintain training rooms, equipment, materials, and logistics to ensure successful training delivery.
- Assist with tracking orientation attendance, training completion, compliance requirements, and training effectiveness metrics.
- Partner with Excellence Coordinators and Human Resources to monitor and report training compliance and onboarding results.
- Support the HR team in coordinating and delivering annual employee training programs.
- Participate in HR and company committees, meetings, and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Previous training, onboarding, facilitation, or employee development experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to effectively present ideas, concepts, concerns, questions, and information in a positive and professional manner.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Ability to foster an atmosphere of teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/industrial plant environment.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or completion of two years of college coursework in Human Resources, Communications, Training & Development, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Previous experience in employee training, onboarding, human resources support, or a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout office and production environments for extended periods.
- Ability to conduct training sessions in classroom and plant settings.
- May require occasional lifting of training materials and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing/industrial environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and operational equipment.
