SHIPPING SUPERINTENDENT

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate within USDA/HACCP guidelines.
- Promote a safe environment following state, federal and company safety standards.
- Produce products that meet or exceed the customers’ (internal and external) requirements and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide positive people oriented work environment, designed to build morale.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
· Managing all aspects of operations to ensure a safe working environment. Taking immediate action to eliminate improper practices or hazardous conditions.
Required skills:
· Team oriented, Communication skills & People skills
· Bilingual important, but not mandatory.
· Must be able to read, write, and speak English
· Must have supervision experience in shipping and inventory control.
· Good interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
· Computer skills are necessary with experience with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· SAP experience a plus.
· Must have 2-3 years of packinghouse experience
Working Conditions:
· Working in cold temperature
· Physical demands of this position may include a great deal of walking and stair climbing.
· Environment consists of slick floors and loud noise.
· Employee will typically work 50-55 hours per week M-F with some Saturday work if necessary.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED with college training preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of meat products.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in processing plant industry
