Primary Role: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Safely and efficiently perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and all tasks related to the maintenance of all feed mill equipment and facility. Typical tasks include troubleshooting and repairing components, testing, and working with production team members.
Description/Job Summary
This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all aspects of the feed mill facility. Scheduled to work Monday - Friday from 9am-5pm. This position requires overtime including, holidays, nights, and weekend shifts as needed. Must be available for call-in duties day or night and responsible to have any discovered problems resolved before finishing shift.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Perform preventative maintenance on feed mill related equipment, as well as repair and install equipment as necessary.
• Detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions and installed replacement parts.
• Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery
• Interpret equipment manuals and establish preventative maintenance programs according to the manufacturers recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems on production equipment
Required Skills/Qualifications
• Knowledge of Single and 3 Phase Motors, Circuitry and Troubleshooting
• Must be organized and able to multi-task.
• Must possess basic mechanical skills and knowledge of standard and metric measurements
• Minimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance or construction experience
• Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes and hydraulics
• Proficient in welding and cutting different steels to include stainless
• General knowledge of plumbing to include black iron, stainless and pvc
• Must be able to cut and thread pipe
• Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts
• Must be able to design and fabricate transitions using various metals
Physical Demands
• Ability to work overtime including, holidays, nights, and weekend shifts
• Working off platforms and catwalks in excess of 100 feet above ground level
• Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 70 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Ability to work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
• General knowledge of boilers/steam systems
• General knowledge of programming technologies, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives (VFD)
• Technical school preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
