VALUE ADDED MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR B SHIFT
Description
• Ensures that all aspects of the company safety policy and procedures are adhered to in the direct and indirect areas of the plant
1. On a daily basis fills out all safety documentation as required
2. Monitors and affirms that all safety policy and procedures are adhered to
3. Ensures that proper corrective action is taken for violation of any safety infraction observed
4. Ensures that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed
• Directs assigned employees in the performance of approved maintenance work and production operations
1. Records progress of jobs scheduled and ensures that daily time distribution of employees are properly recorded and reported
2. Provides immediate response and service to emergency needs in Fab Maintenance area
3. Assigns mechanics at the start of and throughout the shift, specific jobs, preventive maintenance, planned work orders and associated maintenance needs and follows up on them periodically
4. Instructs mechanics in the best job methods, materials, tools and equipment required for assigned work
• Works closely with Supervisors and Peers on all assigned work schedules
1. Advises peers of variances from the status of the daily work schedule
2. Determines with peers the best methods, materials, tools, and equipment to be used in accomplishing specific jobs
3. Recommends equipment to be included in the preventive maintenance program. Assists the Superintendent in developing stocking requirements for spare parts
4. Ensures overtime approval with peers prior to shift schedule
5. Adheres , as closely as possible, to the daily work schedules without wasting manpower or materials
6. Meets work specifications and quality work standards for each job
7. Performs all tasks assign by peers
• Ensures that conduct of personnel assigned with respect to company policy and work rules are adhered.
1. Co-ordinates his efforts with other shift supervisors in area to provide orderly shift change over
2. Ensures general mechanics are trained in order to maintain and improve skill level
3. Indoctrinates new personnel and advises Superintendent of training needs
• Advises superiors and other appropriate members of the engineering department of equipment failure or items requiring excessive maintenance
1. Ensures on modification or change are made without a valid work order; advises details of changes
2. Seeks ways to promote conservation of energy
3. Provides technical assistance to production department on how to best and economically operate equipment
