JOB SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for ensuring the products are moved to internal customers in accordance with production order requests. Follows company policies and procedures. Prioritizes production picklists, coordinates boxing, packaging, and delivery functions, and oversees inventory management. Handles a wide variety of paperwork and recordkeeping including work orders, purchase orders, material requisitions, and inventory logs. Supervises warehouse and logistic activities to achieve plant objectives. Keeps plant management well informed of daily activities and provides recommendations for areas of improvement.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

  1. Effectively manages assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
    1. Provides leadership through effective goal setting, communication, and coaching.
    2. Directs and assigns personnel.
      1. Provides assistance and support as needed.
    3. Trains and advises employees on current daily needs.
      1. Leads personnel to improve performance and productivity.
    4. Evaluates, formulates, and implements employee corrective actions as needed.
    5. Assists with personnel decisions including hiring, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions.
    6. Ensures a positive work environment exhibiting Empire’s culture of respect for all employees.
      1. Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach.
    7. Notifies Warehouse Manager when problems arise.
    8. Resolves problems in the most direct and positive way when approached with feedback and concerns.
    9. Ensures all company policies are followed and has an expert knowledge of company policies.
  2. Ensures the effective and timely completion of all warehouse functions.
    1. Prioritizes production picklist and checks for inventory availability.
    2. Ensures appropriate handling of raw materials to production.
    3. Processes return of dry good materials back into stock.
    4. Tracks and maintains inventory.
    5. Identifies, tracks, and resolves inventory and shortage errors, problems, or delays.
  3. Ensures shipping functions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    1. Ensures that established safety and quality standards are met.
    2. Ensures that schedules and deadlines are followed.
  4. Completes and maintains internal plant related electronic warehouse management system, paperwork, files, and records accurately and timely.
    1. Ensures the accurate completion of daily consumption and movement reports.
    2. Maintains internal shipping files.
    3. Oversees the consumption and processing of goods into production orders.
    4. Ensures that inventory records are current and corrects when deviant.
  5. Establish and maintain good communication, coordination, and working relations with company personnel and with management.
    1. Directs, assists, coordinates, and supports warehouse team personnel as needed.
      1. Assists with training and scheduling.
    2. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.  Identifies problems and provides suggestions.
    3. Attends meetings as required.
  6. Assumes other duties as assigned.
    1. Ensures that raw goods are prepared and delivered for production.
    2. Handles special requests as required.
    3. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
    4. Completed special projects as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • GMP and HACCP experience
  • Fork Lift certification
  • Two or more years supervisory experience in a plant setting
  • Three or more years in production process
  • Understanding of inventory management functions
  • WMS and RF scanner experience
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperatively with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
  • Knowledge of product protection requirements and packing procedures
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Strong math skills

 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

ACTIVITIES:

 

 

Stooping, reaching, walking, and lifting.

HEARING:

 

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

 

REPETITIVE MOTION:

 

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

 

VISUAL ABILITIES:

 

Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

 

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

 

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

 

Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold.  Temperatures are frequently below freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their work days.
