Job Title: Accounting Supervisor
Reports to: Assistant Controller
JBS Tolleson is hiring an Account Supervisor to work with our Accounting team! The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of accounting or finance experience. We offer growth, great benefits and fun, fast paced environment. This position will report to the Assistant Plant Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
- Oversee cattle payable clerks in the processing of payment for cattle, trucking, and commission.
- Interact with cattle procurement, barn, and kill floor personnel to insure proper payment of cattle.
- Interact with vendors, respond to vendor questions and information requests
- Assist cattle payable staff with problem solving and research to determine proper recording of cattle transactions.
- Work with USDA on reporting of cattle purchases, cattle receipts and cattle payment to ensure proper reporting for MPR (Mandatory Price Reporting).
- Balance cattle cost on weekly and monthly basis and report cost to financial team.
- Create and maintain procedure manuals and for cattle payable position
- Perform monthly journal entries for the financial closing process.
- P&L and Balance Sheet monthly analysis
- Work with Operations on vendor costing analysis
- Assist in putting together budgeting files and analysis
- Assist in changing standards for packaging
- Support the accounting team to prepare monthly and quarterly financial results
- Prepare monthly reconciliation for the journal entries
- Support the accounting team on the monthly analysis
- All other duties as assigned by manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience in Accounting or Finance; preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP software; SAP preferred
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast paced, change driven environment
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end procedures
• Timely, responsive, accurate, and detail oriented in all written and verbal communication
• Able to manage through complex issues by asking the right questions, utilizing resources, and gathering data to triage and solve problems
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Good interpersonal savvy – able to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
