Requirements
- Must have above average safety and attendance record.
- Will be required to obtain a pallet jack and forklift operator’s license.
- Must have good communication and planning skills.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must have legible handwriting.
- Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to work at a regular and safe rate with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment as well as outside in the elements.
- Will be required to work overtime depending on work load and truck scheduling.
- May be assigned temporarily to work other shifts depending on departmental needs.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Have previous shipping experience.
- Must be certified to drive yard truck, pallet jack and forklift.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all plant USDA rules and regulations.
- Follow all departmental and plant safety requirements.
- Keep all outside shipping areas sanitary and organized.
- Yard Truck – Check fluids, check operational safety and tire quality once per shift.
- Inventory empty and loaded refrigerated trailers at the beginning of each shift.
- Move empty and loaded refrigerated trailers to and from shipping dock.
- Monitor and document loaded trailer temperatures.
- Pallet Yard - Unload pallet trailers and store pallets in their designated areas
- Keep packaging and ingredients trailers available for plant use.
- Distribute employee sales.
- Will be required to perform other duties within the shipping department as needed.
