PSM SPECIALIST

PURPOSE AND GENERAL SUMMARY: 
Pilgrim’s is looking for a PSM Specialist to maintain compliance of the Process Safety Management program and the Risk Management Program of the facility, as required by federal, state and local law. This role will be based at our processing plant in Cold Spring, MN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a compliant PSM & RMP program at the facility
  • Participate in ammonia system operations as necessary
  • Maintain all PSM documentation and training records that pertain to the PSM & RMP program.
  • Organize, schedule and conduct PSM meetings, compile and maintain PSM action item logs, assist in completing items on the action item log.
  • Participate in facility's Environmental Sustainability program
  • Assist with ammonia refrigeration projects through the scope development and Management of Change processes as required.
  • Assist and maintain APSM compliance implementation schedule.
  • Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 1 year directly related experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM Standard
  • Experience using APSM or similar PSM compliance software preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the operations of ammonia refrigeration preferred
  • Able to read and interpret piping, instrument, and block flow diagrams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, some knowledge of SAP software is helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of basic Standard Operating Procedures
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Able to work fractions, ratios, and percentages
  • Able to solve problems effectively and efficiently through standard procedures
  • Able to work independently and implement proper procedures as required
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation 
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $65,000-82,000;  
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s Annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
