Cattle Procurement Analyst I
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Cattle Procurement Analyst I for JBS Regional Beef that reports on site at our Imperial office Omaha, Nebraska.
The cattle procurement analyst plays a critical role in supporting the wagyu cattle procurement team by handling a broad range of daily accounting, data management, reporting, and communication tasks. Primary duties span five key functional areas: cattle cost and lot tracking, harvest data management, accounts payable, feedyard communications, and cattle producer communications. To succeed in this role, strong accuracy and exceptional attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities:
- This is a full-time position; consistent attendance at the office is required.
- Understand and support daily operations related to cattle production and procurement.
- Calculate incoming cattle costs and enter feed bills into designated cattle tracking software.
- Maintain and update producer files, monitor cattle and bull costs, participate in cattle forecasting meetings, and oversee agreement tracking.
- Assist with implementing and training on new protocols or efficiency initiatives as directed by upper management.
- Enter approved feeder cattle and bull purchase accounts payable into accounting software, process payments, and track documentation.
- Review, track, and enter feed bills and invoices for itemized charges; process payments accordingly.
- Maintain cattle lot records both in files and on spreadsheets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities for cattle and bull tracking.
- Track, organize, and ship cattle DNA samples as required.
- Monitor Beef Checkoff payments and enter them into accounts payable software.
- Create, invoice, ship, and manage bull leases with JBS cattle producers.
- Communicate with feedyards to collect and review harvest taglists and affidavits on a weekly basis.
- Relay ownership information for cattle lots scheduled for harvest and send supporting documents to the packing plant prior to processing.
- Collect and report harvest data and process carcass images.
- Review, enter, and update taglists in cattle tracking spreadsheets.
- Review feeder and fat cattle pricing sheets prepared by Cattle Buyers.
- Work with Cattle Buyers and feedyard employees to transfer feeder cattle from grow yards to finish yards, assisting with and tracking all necessary documentation.
- Verify cattle costs and prepare invoices for selling feeder cattle from CPS to designated ownership groups.
- Collect information and assist with setting up and tracking producer vendor numbers with the corporate accounting department.
- Perform supportive duties such as answering telephone calls, responding to correspondence, reconciling information, creating and updating Excel spreadsheets, data entry, and other general clerical tasks.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and others in the organization. Engage professionally with customers and suppliers as needed.
- Answer phone calls professionally and respond promptly. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise, under management direction.
- Communicate with JBS-approved feedyard employees to gather necessary information for maintaining current cattle files.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, agricultural business, or a related field.
- Experience in cow-calf production and/or cattle feeding management is preferred, but not required.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, OneNote, and Word.
- Experience with QlikSense, SAP, or data analysis is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to enter a high volume of data efficiently and accurately.
- Exceptional listening, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate written and verbal information professionally.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, reliability, and confidentiality, with conscientious work habits.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively manage time.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Adaptable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Capable of working collaboratively in a team setting, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with various beef products and the beef industry is a plus.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $55,000-$65,000;
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
