Director of Retail Sales—Kroger

 

General Summary: As a leading global food company, JBS seeks a dynamic individual with strong leadership and communication skills to drive sales plans and foster effective relationships across multiple business units. This role requires a proactive approach to managing customer communications, resolving issues, and supporting innovation planning by understanding and addressing customer needs. This position will be based in Cincinnati, OH.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Sales Plans to achieve volume, invoice dollars, profit and share objectives
  • Partner with multiple JBS business units to support our product lines in the beef and pork space
  • Meet weekly with Kroger team, acting as the main point of contact for the company, and be able to have effective relationships at multiple levels within Kroger
  • Accountable for all customer communication related to assigned products
  • Ability to outline and forecast promotional and turn volume
  • Responsible for deduction resolution and reduction, retail analysis and reporting, customer service, transportation and claims in partnership with inside sales and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) teams
  • Accountable for potential management of broker services, managing day to day activities, effective sales/reporting; including forecasting, promotional activities, correcting out of stocks and distribution voids, tracking and reporting competitive activities, analyzing the category mix to optimize performance
  • Communicate goal performance status and corrective actions monthly
  • Responsible for achieving new product sell-in goals including; new item presentations, approval of sales material, ordering samples, tracking distribution sell-in, planning retailer Ads/TPRs, prioritizing consumer demand generation support, forecasting and filling orders
  • Supports innovation planning by communicating customers’ needs to influence new product concept development, pricing and distribution goals setting
  • Analyze seasonal trends and consumer purchasing data to influence key business decisions including SKU rationalizations
  • Champions improvements in product, process and programs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 7-10 years of Retail experienceBroad exposure to multiple Customers a plus, Kroger experience a plus
  • 7-10 years of fresh meat and CPG direct sales experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written skills a must
  • Ability to navigate individual business line focus (Multiple Business Unit personnel and Field Teams), while aligning JBS initiatives with Customer strategies and goals to win in the marketplace
  • Proven excellence in negotiations
  • Ability to analyze syndicated data and provide insights. Experience with category management and implementation with retail sets a plus for achieving Customer and JBS goals
  • Retail perishable Fresh Meat or other commodity experience preferred but not required
  • Travel ability is required

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $140,000 $190,000, negotiable with relevant experience;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
