HR GENERALIST- PAYROLL FOCUSED
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a HR Generalist-Payroll Focused for JBS located in Mason, Ohio. This position has primary responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for a large hourly manufacturing workforce and serves as a key resource for payroll and timekeeping matters. The position is responsible for payroll processing, timekeeping administration, payroll audits, corrections, reporting, deductions, and employee payroll inquiries. The role partners with HR, Finance, Operations, Corporate Payroll, and facility leadership to ensure payroll is accurate, timely, confidential, and compliant with company requirements. In addition to payroll responsibilities, this position provides general HR support, including employee records, onboarding, attendance, employee relations, HR reporting, and other HR initiatives as assigned. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and able to work independently while meeting strict payroll deadlines. The position independently manages complex payroll and timekeeping activities, including regular and overtime pay, shift differentials, premiums, PTO, deductions, garnishments, payroll corrections, audits, reporting, and employee inquiries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently while managing confidential information. This position serves as a key payroll and timekeeping resource for employees, supervisors, managers, and the Human Resources team. This role offers excellent growth potential!
Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing payroll reporting and activities
- Compiling payroll process weekly and submits reports accurately and on time
- Coordinates and processes Off Cycle payments as necessary
- Enters correcting items from error report from Pay Card and Bank Returns
- Completes payroll tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor
Employee information resource for payroll and time keeping system
- Answers questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters
Enter electronic records for hourly personnel
- Employee weekly and daily schedules and adjustments
- Employee ID badges
- Vacation, sick leave, etc.
Assist with governmental/compliance reporting
Assists in the management of files and producing reports
- Manages employee personnel files
- Creates HR reports when necessary
- Participates in HR Audit submitting payroll data
Assumes other duties as assigned
Key Performance Expectations
- Process payroll accurately and meet all established payroll deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and data integrity.
- Proactively identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Provide responsive and professional customer service.
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of timekeeping and payroll processes.
- Effectively communicate payroll requirements to employees and leaders.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with Kronos/UKG, SAP, or comparable HR/payroll systems.
- Experience processing payroll for 700+ employees.
- 2+ years of payroll, HR, accounting, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-volume environment.
- Experience processing payroll for a large hourly workforce preferred.
- Strong understanding of timekeeping, overtime, payroll deductions, and payroll reconciliation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and highly dependable,
- Self-starter, proactive and a team player.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of [$49,585-$60,246];
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
