SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, this position will oversee the tracking of all cased goods inventory. They will investigate discrepancies, and reconcile in-house JDE system records to that of our High Jump WMS (warehouses management system)They will work cohesively with the Customer Service Supervisor to ensure seamless shipping of product to our customer, and when applicable, they will support other departments within the organization such as Production, Bottling, Marketing, and Sales.

 

LOCATION:

This position is based out of Jackson Family Wines’ Gold LEED certified distribution center in American Canyon. Our expansive 650,000 square foot temperature-controlled warehouse can house up to five million cases of wine, is equipped with 26 truck docks, and 14 rail docks adjacent to our own private rail spur.  The site is home to our logistics and distribution team, a cohesive unit comprised of Customer Service and Inventory Control staff.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise a staff that handles all data input, review, and communication with branch plants for Jackson Family Wines, ensuring a balanced workload.
  • Distributes monthly notification to all parties of open orders.
  • Assists in developing and managing various reports needed for inventory and warehousing analysis, i.e. Inventory Capacity Report, Aged-Inventory Reports, Warehousing Needs Analysis, and Bailment Reconciliation Reports.
  • Assist the Inventory Analyst and Customer Service Supervisor with researching/auditing any discrepant orders that will cause issues at month end close or prior to inventory including those that show up on the 702 (tax reporting) report for boned branch plants.
  • Primary point of contact for all fiscal year end physical inventory activities at the NCDC
  • Responsible for overseeing reconciliation processes and physical counts at 3rd party bailment warehouses.
  • Highjump “Superuser”.  Runs manual processes in JDE for inventory transactions, order processing and purchase order transactions.
  • Assigns/creates the documentation of any new JDE or High Jump procedures.
  • Oversee the daily responsibilities of the Inventory Coordinators to include:
  • tracking of departmental allocations for all products produced
  • tracking and monitoring of progress on unlabeled products
  • monitoring of product releases provided by the QC lab
  • Verifying and receiving all receipts from bottling.
  • monitoring of imports as they are shipped to the NCDC and making sure all international items are setup and received correctly.
  • Oversee all sample order shipping both domestic and international.
  • Verifies the availability of new releases for the Sales and Customer Service Departments
  • Monitor the entering, processing, and tracking to completion all internal orders – i.e. tasting rooms, Dist. Center, SK5, Wine Direct etc.
  • Works with managers from the Transportation, Customer Service, and Distribution departments to ensure a seamless flow of inventory movement and needs.
  • Oversees packaging inventory and ensures that it remains in sync between JDE and HJ and conducts a yearly packaging count in January.
  • Ensures the process of removing items approved for destruction happens on a regular basis.
  • Ensures that all shipping and receiving practices adhere to legal guidelines.
  • Participate in mock recall exercises when scheduled.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the inventory team, as well as yearly reviews with established goals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Distribution Manager

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory control and management.  Must have strong supervisory, administrative and customer service skills.  Attention to detail a must.  Wine inventory management a plus.  International inventory management a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Intermediate to advanced level for both MS Word and Excel.  Ability to create and edit documents in both applications.  JDEdwards OneWorld Software or similar ERP experience a must. Knowledge of High Jump, WMS preferable.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

 

Ability to set and maintain deadlines.  Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks.  Ability to make decisions as appropriate.  Must be able to lift approximately 40 pounds repeatedly when restocking and organizing work area. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with all levels of personalities within the organization.  Must be a team player who is able to work as part of and be supportive of the other team members.  Must be able to perform duties in a normal office work environment that consists of moderate noise such as computers, printers and phone conversations between other employees and customers.

Wage transparency:
The base salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
