POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to Vineyard Director, this position will ensure the effective and efficient deployment and tracking of farming equipment throughout the entire region. This position will also organize and maintain an all-equipment list, inventory, up to date confirmation of location and availability.  Responsible for managing regulatory/compliance functions related to position. Is responsible for shop safety including, but not limited to, use of and maintenance of safety equipment, i.e., glasses, eye wash stations, first aid kits, etc. Manage all services, equipment, and service instruction. Maintains and updates CMMS Program. Attends managers meetings; holds weekly department meetings; strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments. Monitor shop productivity, workflow, and procedures with an emphasis on efficiency, thoroughness, and safety. Assess current vineyard equipment and work with Vineyard Team to forecast replacement and correct equipment increase efficiency in mechanization. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical problems.
  • Servicing machinery and/or implements according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Coordinating daily moving of equipment between vineyards and shop.
  • Paying vendors for invoices and coding and uploading documents onto P-card or invoicing site.
  • Maintaining up to date lists of all equipment, vehicles, tractors, trucks.
  • Tracking equipment movement and locations using GPS tracking.
  • Managing parts inventory and outside purchases, including assisting in maintaining stock inventory levels to minimize outside purchases.
  • Reviewing shop area, equipment, and teammates for compliance with company safety procedures.
  • Performing repairs with thoroughness and excellence on all equipment or overseeing that repairs performed by others are done in the same manner.
  • Assigning work orders through CMMS program.
  • Assisting technicians with any problems they may have.
  • Delegating responsibilities to mechanics or service persons as needed.
  • Daily checking of timecards. Clock in, clock out, taking breaks, taking lunch, approving timecards.
  • Ensuring that the shop is always neat and orderly, and that tools and equipment are treated with care and respect.
  • Setting an excellent example to subordinates, Mechanic 1 and Mechanic 2.  
  • Assisting as needed with harvest logistics.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:                                                                                                                                                                          
Essential, Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Must be able to understand tractor/implement hydraulics and read and understand service/repair manuals. 
  • Must understand automotive/tractor electrical and be able to read electrical diagrams and repair 6, 12, & 24 volt systems.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, and repair agricultural equipment and vehicles.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communications – including timely, prompt, and reliable communications. Spanish fluency a plus.
  • Job requires intermediate level computer skills, Word and Excel capability.
  • Must possess a current, valid OR Driver’s license at all times.
  • Reliable, responsible, uses good judgment; develops positive working relationships with internal and external - contacts/employees/managers.
  • Able to work longer hours, including nights, during peak times and/or as needed throughout the year.
  • Highly successful at multi-tasking, good problem solver.  Can prioritize multiple requests but at same time is flexible and willing to look at multiple solutions to get the job done.
Wage transparency:
The base salary for this role ranges from $85,000-100,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
