Seasonal Lab Analyst – Stonestreet Estate Vineyards
Join the Stonestreet Estate Vineyards Production Team for the 2024 harvest! Located in Alexander Valley, we source our fruit from world-class estate vineyards in Sonoma County to produce primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc wines. Other varieties we work with include Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir. We focus on producing premium-quality, single vineyard wines.
Under the general direction of the Lab Supervisor and Lab Analyst, the Seasonal Lab Analyst will be responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Execute and record grape maturity sampling analysis: TA, pH, Brix.
- Sample fermenting must in barrel and tank for daily Brix and Temperature measurements. Record and communicate accurate results.
- Preform and record analyses for wine and juice.
- Execute Brettanomyces detection assay using Veriflow.
- Sample wine in barrels weekly for Malo-lactic fermentation
- Analyze fermenting must for pH, TA, Glu/Fru, and Alcohol
- Maintain a clean workspace, assist with clean-up of laboratory.
- Pull samples from tank, barrel, and keg.
- If interested, candidate can work a bit in the cellar performing light cellar work once lab responsibilities are complete.
- Day Off: Sunday
- Duration of position: August 19th through Mid-December.
Background and Experience:
Prior lab and winery experience and/or education in related field preferred. Must have ability to communicate effectively in English with good skills in reading, writing and basic math. Must be able to work safely around equipment, electrical outlets, and chemicals. Individuals selected for this position must be reliable, detail-oriented, and have a good work ethic and attitude. Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and overtime as needed during the harvest season. Must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States.
Physical Demands:
This position requires continuous walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling throughout the shift. It requires the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 50 pounds.
