Director, Enterprise Applications

J2 is looking for a Director, Enterprise Applications for it’s newly spun off publicly traded company Consensus. This role will be part of J2 Global during the transition period and will report to the Senior Director of Financial Systems during this time. This will be a strong leader who will take ownership of Oracle ERP cloud and other Enterprise Applications after the spinoff. The role is highly visible and will interact with all levels of personnel and management at Consensus. Beyond the initial migration, the company will continue to grow organically and through acquisition, and the Director, Enterprise Applications will be integral in future systems strategy at the company. The position requires hands-on experience leading all aspects of the implementation and a thorough understanding of the core Financials modules in Oracle ERP Cloud.


  • Be a hands-on leader and Architect for the Consensus ERP Cloud instance
  • Be a key member in the implementation and migration strategy for the newly spun off company
  • Hit the ground running and quickly understand the Consensus products and how they are setup, billed, recorded and reported from a systems standpoint
  • Hire/build the Enterprise Applications team for Consensus
  • Gather and document project requirements from each of the business areas
  • Design and document business flows and processes for Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-cash, Record-to-report
  • Create and manage the project plan, giving periodic updates to senior management and executive leadership
  • Identify and understand issues/risks that develop; escalate appropriately within teams, across functions, and across teams; design mitigation plans and champion adoption to bring to close; report on impact to project costs and timeline
  • Take a pragmatic approach to process improvement, identifying risks and doing what is necessary to meet deadlines
  • Work with business teams to identify, manage, and coordinate data strategy and integration dependencies
  • Coordinate and schedule all meetings, including critical cross-functional and cross-departmental interactions
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve business processes; influence business to adopt those ideas
  • Coordinate testing and test sign-off with external parties involved in module implementation (i.e., banks etc.)
  • Manage the Oracle and other vendor relationships and budget post spin off



Technical Experience Required:

  • The candidate must have hands-on Oracle ERP Cloud implementation experience in leadership position
  • Ten plus years of ERP implementation experience with strong hands-on experience in core Financials modules GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Purchasing and Billing (Service Contracts/Subscription Management)
  • Experience leading all aspects of ERP systems integration technologies and infrastructure – Oracle SOACS, OIC etc.
  • Five years of project management
  • Accounting or computer science background with implementation experience on financial systems, EBS, Oracle Cloud, etc.;
  • Salesforce experience (desirable).


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • At least one implementation of Oracle Cloud / Fusion as a leader/project manager ideally for a global company
  • Must be detail-oriented, have an ownership mentality, handle complex problems, require minimal direction, and be able to work within a multiple Business Unit setting
  • Accounting background with strong understanding of multi-currency and multi-subsidiary environments
  • Solid knowledge of application development and testing, specifically data migration, integration, and data dependencies; knowledgeable in both Waterfall and Agile project management
  • Understanding of change management methodologies
  • Able to pick up new technology and processes quickly
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Ability to review, question, and challenge the status quo
  • Sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm in a dynamic corporate environment

This is a remote/office-based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except within Colorado.
