Job Summary

J2 Global’s Communication brands (Line2, eVoice and eReceptionist) arm small businesses with VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) digital communication tools are embarking on an ambitious growth plan rapidly and are looking for exceptional new team members to help drive this growth. We have an exciting opportunity for a sales leader who will be primarily responsible for generating new sales revenue through customer sales additions and upsells. The sales manager will oversee the collective quotas as well as own a personal book of business.

Historically, the sales function at Communications was shared with the J2 Fax business unit.  The spin-off of Consensus creates the opportunity to build a sales team dedicated exclusively to the Communications products.   The Sales Manager will develop the team through internal transfers from Fax, hiring additional representatives as needed and building ancillary sales channels through outsourced teams and partners.

Proven SaaS sales management skills including lead qualification, pipeline management and the ability to translate operating KPIs to accurate revenue forecasting models are essential for this role. The candidate must be a magnet for high calibre sales talent and confident training new and existing team members within a proactive coaching framework. The successful candidate must be comfortable overseeing the performance of a sales team while also juggling the demands of managing a personal book of direct sold business. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Recruit, train, and motivate sales talent to achieve high performance levels
  • Ability to identify qualified sales opportunities and nurture the sales process including prospecting, discovery, product demos, proposals, contract review, and closing tactics
  • Manage both an individual performance quota as well as a team quota
  • Cultivate key account relationships by identifying and understanding customers’ needs and help implement solutions
  • Update and maintain prospect pipeline, daily activity and forecast data
  • Build and manage a productive sales team
  • Collaborate with key stake holders within the organization from marketing, product, support and finance teams to help optimize current performance and shape future strategies

 Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a sales professional and leader with negotiation skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing the sales process from lead to close
  • Prior experience in managing a highly motivated team
  • Strong communicator comfortable working with senior management
  • Team player
